Ten volunteers from local MTB groups gathered in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to pitch in on the ground breaking effort for the borough’s first bike park. Led by course builder and designer Jim Dellavalle of Pennsylvania, group leaders met to develop an action plan to manage the construction of the park, which is slated to open on Memorial day weekend, May 27th. Want to help build the next generation of mountain bike racers?? Sid’s Bikes NYC will be hosting a benefit showing of Singletrack High this April. It’s a great documentary that shows the ins and outs of the younger generation starting their racing careers. The screening will be on Tuesday APRIL 16th at 8:00PM at their 151 west 19th st. location.

Reveal The Path will premiere in a double feature with Ride The Divide in New York City at the Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway on the Upper West Side on Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m. Ride The Divide will play at 7 p.m. followed by Reveal The Path at 8:45. The event will feature a guest appearance by Reuben Kline, one of the riders profiled in Ride The Divide. After a month-long moratorium on volunteer activity in the park following Hurricane Sandy, The New York Restoration Project and NYCMTB are pleased to announce that this weekend we will begin final phase of our large-scale reforestation project by planting the remaining native trees and shrubs in Highbridge Park. The reforestation will compliment and reinforce the new trails and jumps that have been developed in the area.
