Taconic 150 Sunday June 14th

The 8th edition of the Taconic 150 will be held Sunday, June 14th. The ride will meet at the Farmer’s Wife cafe in Ancram, NY (Columbia County) at 8:00am and roll out by 830am. Riders should expect 6-7 hours of saddle time, not including stops.The route is just shy of 150 kilometers, climbs about 7500 feet, and follows paved roads for roughly 1/2 its length (special thanks to route engineer Ian Rutter). With the latest wave of snow hitting NYC just days ago, mountain bikers and roadies alike are forced to keep their bikes on lockdown as they watch their favorite trail system or road route hibernate into winter mode. Raystown Lake Road Trip Recap

This past weekend Bill Cullen and I headed out to the Rothrock Forest and Raystown Lake, PA, to sample two very different styles of riding on some killer Pennsylvania trails. We headed out of midtown at 5 pm through some nasty Lincoln Tunnel traffic, but once past the tunnel it was surprisingly light.
