Local Groups Break Ground at Brooklyn Park

Ten volunteers from local MTB groups gathered in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to pitch in on the ground breaking effort for the borough’s first bike park. Led by course builder and designer Jim Dellavalle of Pennsylvania, group leaders met to develop an action plan to manage the construction of the park, which is slated to open on Memorial day weekend, May 27th. It’s On! Tree Planting at Highbridge Sunday December 9th

After a month-long moratorium on volunteer activity in the park following Hurricane Sandy, The New York Restoration Project and NYCMTB are pleased to announce that this weekend we will begin final phase of our large-scale reforestation project by planting the remaining native trees and shrubs in Highbridge Park. Mountain Creek XC Trail Preview

After a decade long hiatus, Mountain Creek Bike Park has re-opened their mountaintop cross-country trail network.  Currently the park has cleared and opened 7 miles of intermediate and advanced natural single-track, as well as the 10 miles of gravel access roads that encircle the resort’s 8 mountaintop lakes.  The trails can be accessed from the gates of the Hamburg Mountain Wildlife Preserve (off County Route 515), or via the Cabriolet Gondola with a $7 single-ride cross-country lift ticket.  Riders can end their day with a fast and flowy run down …
