You gotta hand it to our local mountain bike community. Over 45 volunteers turned up this past Saturday at Cunningham Park in Queens to help repair the extensive damage to the Jetline jump line and Thrilla trail. Hats off to Mike Vitti, Jimmy Martinez and the whole crew, who moved countless wheelbarrows of dirt and rocks, and rollered, tamped and reshaped the entire both lines after an unknown group of vandals systematically dismantled them sometime late last Sunday.

Their grievous actions have garnered the attention of the police and parks department who have stepped up surveillance, as well as the local media. NY1 was on the scene Sunday afternoon and filed a report, which should be available online soon.

We’d like to thank everyone who came out this weekend to lend a hand, and ask that all riders be vigilant when out riding and report anything out of the ordinary to 311.
