Anyone else interested in this race? I'm signing up.... The Adirondacks are beautiful and really not too far either.

The climb up Whiteface in the last few miles will no doubt be a suffer-fest!

It's weird to call it a mountain bike race when only 4 miles out of 56 are on singletrack.

To each their own, I guess. That last climb up Whiteface looks like murder.

Sorry for the delay, but I finally got a chance to write my race report. It isn't going to be anything long. Landing on father's day, it was great to bring the family up to Lake Placid. They enjoyed the scenery and we stayed at a very family friendly camp resort. I bumped into Pablo right before the race so it felt good seeing a familiar face. As previously described it was a roadies MTB race. The first several miles were on the road where it then transitioned into gravel and fire roads. The entire race was pretty much climbing up and over 1 summit and returning back over. At the end there was a short single track section to finish at Whiteface which wasn't that great. Riders had to basically climb a ski trial to the top which was mostly lose rock. 95% of the riders I was with when I got to the bottom were hiking their bikes up. The decent was one of the downhill trials and wasn't well suited for CX. All in all, I would do the race again for training purposes and a chance to do Leadville. I felt good in the first half of race, but was drained at the second half. Finished in 6 1/2 hours in the 150s.

At least you got a long training ride, even though it sounds far from an exciting course. We'll get some sweet single track in PA end of the month to make up for all that road.
